Hi,
I am currently doing a wind turbine simulation using pimpleDyMFoam solver, where the blade rotation is achieved through a rotating cylindrical cellSet (which rotates w.r.t. a static outer mesh). Now, I want planes of data from different spanwise sections of the blade during the post-processing step within openFoam (to analyse the local boundary layer), but finding it difficult as this sampling needs to be done on moving planes. Can someone suggest me an efficient method to carry this out? |

Hi Tarak,
Could you tell me whether you want during runtime or after once you got the solution which is saved in your local? If you want during runtime, I dont think OpenFOAM has manageable Co-ordinate System which commercial software has it. Once you have a solution in your local, you could use macro in paraview to get the plane sections across your blade. (Using Transform from Filter Menu). According to the timeStep you knew the Blade Position, and it is repeated one. These values are input for Transform. I hope you got the point. If you have any doubt or require any further clarifications, please feel free to let me know. Regards, Gowhar Last edited by mdgowhar; August 12, 2016 at 13:14. |
