Just wondering, is contour smearing/distortion like this:
http://docplayer.net/docs-images/24/...mages/26-0.png due to the color interpolation algorithm by Paraview or was it an actual numerical artifact that could be avoided by a more relaxed mesh refinement rate? I've seen similar jump/distortion of velocity or vorticity field near a hybrid-mesh interface between hex and tet zones before with the interface almost acting like a wall with rebounding flow. I believe it was due to the FV solver having problem preserving flow information across such a large change in cell type ( I don't remember having similar problem when I was using Fluent before). I ended up bypassing the problem by creating a pure hex mesh domain, but the question has been bugging me (keep in mind that this was from a few years ago). I suppose now this can be solved by using the AMI boundary type on the internal face? |
