hi guys,
i am trying to simulate a pitching airfoil, from initial position of 0 degrees to -8, to 8 and then back to zero again. Code:
rotationAmplitude 8;//Rotation angle [deg] rotationFrequency 1;//Frequency for rotation [Hz] rotationOrigin (0.25 0 0.5);//Rotational origin the problem is that there is no file where the angle of attack steps are saved to. what is the best way to have the angle of attack coupled to the forceCoeffs.dat outputs with equal time steps. any tips would be very much appreciated. |

Hi,
By getting to know how much angle your aerodynamic centre/ origin of rotation has moved after every timestep, you can easily find out alpha. Which solidbodyMotion function are you using ? I can tell you the specifics if I know this. If you look into displaement/pointMotion files, you can find value for latest position of origin of rotation. kind regards |
