Online OpenFOAM introductory training


This course prepares the attendees to conduct end-to-end CFD studies, that is, CAD → Meshing → Simulations → Post-processing, using the OpenFOAM®.

This course is offered in cooperation with the University of Genova and Wolfdynamics (http://www.wolfdynamics.com). The course extends for five weeks (asynchronous learning).

This training session will take place during the months of October-November 2020.

OpenFOAM® version: the course is based on OpenFOAM® version 8.

Teaching method: all the lectures have been pre-recorded so that the participants can follow the course at their own pace. However, we strongly recommend dedicating at least five hours a week (that is less than an hour a day) to cover each week's topics and follow the guided tutorials. The participants will have access to a dedicated forum where they can post questions or interact with other users. We will meet once a week for questions and answers (Q&A).

Q&A meeting times: we will meet online every Friday for Q&A (16OCT, 23OCT, 30OCT, 6NOV, 13NOV). To maximize users participation in different time-zones, the meetings will start at 3:00 pm CET and will end at 6:00 pm CET.

Training material: every participant will have access to the lecture notes (in pdf format) and all the supporting material (tutorials and videos).

Fees: in light of the current developments due to the COVID19 pandemic, we have decided to offer a special price to all participants, 200 Euros + VAT.
