Dear OpenFOAM user,

The sixth symposium on OpenFOAM® in Wind Energy (SOWE) will be hosted by the Wind Energy Group of the Earth Sciences Department at Uppsala University Campus Gotland, bringing together people who use OpenFOAM® for wind energy applications. The symposium aims to present the state of the art in wind energy computations using OpenFOAM®, allowing participants (experts, beginners, developers, etc.) to discuss research results, techniques and to identify common problems in the wind energy sector.

Topics
The symposium will cover a wide variety of areas linked to wind energy research. Most relevant subjects are listed below and the presentations will be arranged by topic. The proposed topics are not exclusive and are not intended to limit participation in the discussion of other wind energy applications of OpenFOAM®.

• Atmospheric flows (including flow over complex terrain and sea)
• On and offshore HAWT & VAWT wind turbine aerodynamics and wakes
• Small scale wind energy applications
• Site assessment and wind farm aerodynamics
• Other, such as meshing, algorithms, post-processing, parallel performance, etc.

Article format
A 5 page article will be submitted, with previous approval of an abstract. The accepted articles will be made available on a conference page after the conference under a Creative Commons Attribution License.

New deadline for abstract submission: March 1st.

An oral presentation of the accepted articles will be granted.
