Dear FOAMers,

FluiDyna offers a four-day introductory course into OpenFOAMŽ at the Leibniz-Rechenzentrum in Garching near Munich from Monday, November 4th to Thursday, November 7th.
The course is intended for new users who want to learn the basic concepts of the usage of OpenFOAMŽ and want to know how to modify existing applications or add new functionalities.
Among others the course covers the topics:
  • Introduction to working with Linux
  • OpenFOAMŽ file structure and case setup
  • Setting up and running simulations
  • Evaluating and visualizing results with ParaView
  • Selection of numerical methods
  • Creating and converting meshes
  • Computing in parallel and acceleration on GPUs using NVIDIA CUDAŽ
  • Implementation of new features
  • Advanced topics in OpenFOAMŽ
The course is held from 9:00 to 18:00 each day and will be comprised of approximately 4 hours of lectures and 3 hours of hands-on sessions, the language is English.

General knowledge of CFD (finite volume method, discretization schemes etc.) is recommended. Programming skills in C++ are beneficial, but not essential for partaking in this course.
