Now the numbers here are in m or mm? The geometry that I had created in solidWorks was initially in mm. I'm asking this because my boundary conditions will change accordingly. Thanks!! Ram |

Hi again
Have you visualised your mesh using paraFoam for a quick check just to be sure. Regards Z. |

I have checked in paraview as well...The numbers are correct. But I'm not sure about the units...It is showing 9.43 but whether it is mm or m I dont know

i am validating one paper, i asked my friend to send mesh from ansys. its a 2D geometry. fluentMeshToFoam temp.msh i got the following

hi friends,
I am trying to convert .msh file to openfoam using both fluentMeshToFoam and fluent3DMeshToFoam. But I am getting an error in both the cases. fluentMeshToFoam - Found end of section in unknown ,Embedded blocks in comment or unknown: fluent3DMeshToFoam - Do not understand the characters: on line 1 please can anybody let me know how to solve this Thank you |

is your ".msh" mesh file in binary or ascii format?

That seems to be the problem, as far as I know your ".msh" file should be in ASCII format.

oh cool, then will try it. Thank you kera. Yining Song syn1993530, I also experienced the same problem like you. One should be in the base directory to run the solver, not in any folder like 0 or constant or system. |
