Hi everyone,

i just started to familiarize myself with OpenFoam. I want to simulate cross flow over a circular cylinder for relatively low Re numbers (100-300).

I was thinking about using a block structured mesh consisting of 3 blocks. An O-type mesh in the region of the cylinder wall, a C-type mesh for the region in front of the cylinder and the wake region, and a coarse mesh for the rest of the flow field.
What do you think of this grid structure? Are you proposing another grid structure?

Has anyone got an example of a blockMeshDict file for a similar problem?

Many thanks in advance.
