Dear community,

I need your help to see if i am making a fundamental mistake in learning OF.
I want to simulate the water stream around a cylinder in a simple channel. The geometry and mesh was created using Salome. After the conversion into OF format with IdeasUnvToFoam, the geometry is kinda messy. It seems that the cylinder is not translated correctly, neither are the holes in the top and bottom faces.

What do I need to change to make the conversion running? (Checkmesh does not complain about the converted mesh).

I'm using Ubuntu 9, OF 1.5 and Salome 4.1.4.

Thank you in advance,
David

(sorry that I posted only hyperlinks, the preview post tool removed my image links every time)

I found the solution by accident: it's a problem with the language variable, which has to been set to "C" in operating systems not using english as default language.

write LANG=C in your .bashrc file located invisible in your HOME directory. then restart terminal and voila!
