Hi,
I ran checkMesh on a mesh generated by snappyHexMesh. The mesher converged without problems, but running checkMesh gave: Checking geometry... Domain bounding box: (0 0 0) (3.2 2 2.4) Boundary openness (3.31594e-18 1.11805e-15 3.12204e-17) OK. Max cell openness = 2.70321e-16 OK. Max aspect ratio = 2.52179 OK. Minumum face area = 1.40343e-05. Maximum face area = 0.00644646. Face area magnitudes OK. Min volume = 2.14557e-07. Max volume = 0.000515752. Total volume = 15.3453. Cell volumes OK. Mesh non-orthogonality Max: 45.4347 average: 11.2568 Non-orthogonality check OK. Face pyramids OK. Max skewness = 1.27883 OK. *There are 454 faces with concave angles between consecutive edges. Max concave angle = 69.111 degrees. <<Writing 454 faces with concave angles to set concaveFaces Face flatness (1 = flat, 0 = butterfly) : average = 0.999785 min = 0.796655 *There are 1 faces with ratio between projected and actual area < 0.8 Minimum ratio (minimum flatness, maximum warpage) = 0.796655 <<Writing 1 warped faces to set warpedFaces Using foamToVTK, then paraview, I was unable to see the cellSets mentionned. I then converted the file in Fluent msh format (hoping to be able to vizualize bad cells there) and a calculation converged on this mesh. So I am wondering if it is really that bad. How can I vizualize the sets produced by checkMesh ? |

I found a solution:
foamtToVTK -faceSet concaveFaces |
