Hi all,

I had trouble importing a 3D mesh with hexahedra and prism elements from Gmsh to OpenFOAM, so Mattijs Janssens made some modifications to gmshToFoam.C and it worked.

You can run the gmshToFoam command with the following syntax:

gmshToFoam <root> <case> filename.msh -invertPrism -invertHex

Just replace the old gmshToFoam.C file in /home/user/openFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.1/applications/utilities/mesh/conversion/gmshToFo am directory with \attach {this}

The easiest way to compile it is by running the ./Allwmake command from the /home/user/openFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.1/applications/utilities/mesh/conversion directory.
