Hello everyone,
After a long silence I am back :-)! A Good evening to everyone.... had been to India on holiday, and guess what... I got the opportunity to spend over half a day explaining and demonstrating OpenFOAM to the CFD group of a fairly large engineering solutions company there :-)! Anyway.... I am currently working on validating a couple of results between OpenFOAM and Fluent. A 3D mesh was constructed in Gambit in which the hanging nodes a "Hexcore" mesh produces were removed by converting the cells to polyhedral cells. These cells are specified in the exported file (.msh file), as cell type 7. However, in the "fluentToFoam" convertor, there exists only cell types 0 to 6, causing the convertor to abort with the error that the cell type could not be recognised. It would be great if someone could give me a solution / workaround or tips for getting past this error. By the way... this type of mesh was chosen over the "hexcore" mesh, because the converter failed to import a "hexcore" mesh too. The error in this case, was, that the converter does not recognise fluent ID 59, which is the ID for "face trees". As far as I understood, "face trees" are used to specify connectivity for hanging nodes. Could someone help me out here? Have a lovely day! Philippose |
