Importing mesh for use with Ggi

Good evening,
I recently got the Ggi interface working on OF 1.5 and successfully ran prof. Jasak's mixer2d example which was posted in the forums. However, I have been struggling to import a mesh made with Gmsh because gmsh will not let me have two patches at the same location. I thus tried to make a mesh where the "insideSlider" and "outsideSlider" patches were slightly offset and then use attachMesh or stitchMesh utilities but had no success so far. The slider patches remain detached. I would appreciate if anyone could give me a hint. Thanks, -Louis |

Bonjour Louis,
You might want to export your mesh as two separate meshes and try to combine them together with mergeMeshes. If you want to use "insideSlider" and "outsideSlider" as GGI patches, you don't want to stitch them together; you need to keep them as two distinct patches. Martin |

Salut Martin,
thank you for the suggestion! I will try it and post feedback here. Mahendra, if you use this mixer2D example: http://www.cfd-online.com/cgi-bin/Op...0177#POST20177 with the compiled source of http://www.cfd-online.com/cgi-bin/Op...7020#POST27020 it should work. Note that you will need to change some values in controlDict and perhaps a few other files to make the tutorial compatible with 1.5. Let me know how it goes! (Also, you will only be able to visualize results with paraview from OF 1.4) regards, -Louis |

Hello again,
I got a custom made 2D mixer case to run in OF-1.5-dev using my meshes imported from gmsh! Visualization with the paraFoam (paraview 3.3) script also works perfectly. Thank you again Martin, and thank you prof. Jasak for the dev. release! regards, -Louis |
