Hi. I've been trying to successfully convert a mesh in icem to Foam. I converted the mesh to multiblock structured in icem, and then I set the solver as cfx4, and wrote the output file.

When I use the cfx4ToFoam mesh converter, I get the following output:

[actmodel@r4-bcc-a010590 ansystofoamtest]$ cfx4ToFoam cfx4.geo

Can anyone explain the FOAM warning that I get at the end of the output? Thanks in advance for all the help!

John,

well, I do not understand either, but I can tell you that we used "fluent_V6" output in icem (from *.uns) and fluentMeshToFoam to import the mesh without any problem.

Default Daniel, I'll give that a try.

Hey. When you do the mesh conversions, what are all the files you have to have setup in the 'system' folder?

Can we just modify the controlDict from any solver?

If this is available in the tutorials, I'm sorry for asking.

Hi,

i tried the same for a very simple problem.

I have a large box with a small cut-out at the top. This should simulate a jetfan in a large body.

When i convert the mesh (HEXA or Tetra) to Fluent_V6 (Windows) and convert it with fluentMeshtoFoam or fleunt3DMeshtoFoam it seem to be wrong. When i have a look at the mesh with paraFoam the geometrie is not converted correctly, the jetfan is not visible or just a face without volume. Does anybody has a guess?

Tanks to everybody for helping me
