I am trying to mesh a 3D wing with snappyHexMesh. So far I have used the parameters of the motorBike example to operate snappyHexMesh. According to the output of snappyHexMesh everything goes well. However, if I look to the final mesh, the cells at the wing surface are not adjusted (snapped) to the surface (see picture). Which would be the parameter to control this? Is there a tutorial by which snappyHexMesh can be tried out?

Thanks,

Thomas

wolle1982 will become famous soon enough
in the snappyHexMesh Dict at the very top there you have to set the snapcontrol to "true". furthermore you have to switch to timestep 2 and 3 to see the snapped result. the picture you posted seems to be timestep 1.

1. Import what? The geometry must be inside constant/triSurface
2. using BlockMesh, have a look at the motorbike tutorial for instance;
3. Using snappyHexMesh, again, have a look at the motorbike tutorial;
4. Again… motorbike… also reading the manual would help…probably spending the same amount of time you used to write this post in reading the manual would have helped a lot more…
5. guess what… motorbike and manual…
