Hi,
No, I did not solve the problem. I finally used a very fine mesh around my structure, but without any boundary layers. It should be possible as other people managed to do so. I maybe switch to another freeware to mesh the computational volume that is able to include boundary layers. If you have more positive experience with snappy with respect to the boundary layer addition, I would be very pleased to hear it. Regards, Bob |

Hi. Think better not to make separate thread for this small question:
in OpenFOAM UserGuide and here http://www.openfoam.com/docs/user/sn...hp#x26-1520246 in SnappyHexMeshDict exist setting Code:
doLayers - Description: Add surface layers? - Example: true doLayer=addLayers? |

Hi,
I'm quite new to sHM and these are my first steps. Have looked the tutorial cases which used this utility and modified the motorBike-simpleFoam and put a torus inside of the flow instead of the bike. All went OK. Now I want to setup my very own case which consists of a rangehood inside of a room. The room is a simple box with an oven cut out and above it the rangehood. sMH creates an error at the "Refinement phase" stating that the locationInMesh point is not inside the mesh. Found this definition - To tell snappy to keep the interior part of your mesh, just specify 'locationInMesh' to be a point inside that part of the mesh you want to keep. - I think my point satisfies this condition. My two triSurfaces were created with 3dsMax in obj format. Thx for your help! |
