hi all,

i was trying out shm and when i want to add layers i encounter a strange behaviour.

the number of layers i can add is limited by the ratio between cell size next to the layers and thickness of the last layer: CellSize / ThicknessFirstLayer < 100.
as long as this condition is ok i get the layers, if not the algo does not add one layer.

so i am not able to create layers more than 20 or so because from there on the ratio hits this value.

does anybody know anything about that?

Generally, it is limited to 0.4 times the cell height closest to the boundary. You can make the calculations based on this metric. Making more than 10 layers is tricky with snappy.
