Is there any working opensource meshing tool? I have complex geometry in stl format and multiregion case. Snappyhexmesh performs incredibly bad. It steals 15 gt ram for 1 million cell case, cant add layering in corners (ive tried in 100 different settings, increased blockmesh quality etc) and overall its performance is just like rolling the dice. Meshing process for same geometry takes like 1 minute using gmsh but 20 minutes using snappy. However, gmshtofoam dont work. All conversion tools from other free meshers are outdated and dont work with newest versions of OF. plz recommed a good work flow for creating multi region mesh from stl files )
btw reducing amount of cores in multirun do not help with the memory robbery and distributedTriSurfaceMesh instead of triSurfaceMesh in snappy configuration using hierarchial method in decomposeParDict only causes errors and snappy wont run at all |

There is Salome but it's mostly for Tetra
I would propose you try snappyHexMesh with BaramCFD. It's got a great UI and much easier to control once you have visualisation. Otherwise you can try cfMesh or Gmsh |
