[blockMesh] blockMesh not working

~/openfoam11/tutorials/fluid/cavity$ blockMesh
--> FOAM FATAL ERROR :
Could not find mandatory etc entry (mode=ugo)
'controlDict'

this is my first experience on OpenFOAM.When I try to use blockMesh according to the tutorial, it is showing the error.

Could you share a picture of your working directory?

controlDict is a file that dictates the parameters of the simulation (nb of iterations, start time etc)and it's found in the system folder. Perhaps when you copied the tutorial directory you didn't capture everything.
