Hi,
I have a geometry which has 4 sides. However, only 3 sides are covered from the air. But when I create a rectangular block mesh only to cover 3 sides, the 4 th side which is not covered from air is disappeared at the snappyHexmesh. When I covered the whole geometry from the rectangular block mesh i can clear the meshing for whole geometry and air at snappyHexMesh. Can any one please tell me how to made a rectangular blockMesh to cover only 3 sides of a geometry or a method to solve this problem? I m a new person for OpenFoam and started in last month. Thanks, TGS |

Hello TGS,
Having screenshots showing your geometry, blockMesh, and problems you have with your mesh would be useful in order to help you. How to give enough info to get help Regards, Yann |

Hello TGS,
Thanks for the files, but you're still not giving enough information to get help. Things can go wrong at any step of a workflow: bad geometry definition, bad blockMesh, bad snappyHexMesh setup... And the good way to setup a case depends on the type of physics you want to simulate. What kind of simulation do you try to achieve? With which solver? Can you please post screenshots of you failed mesh? (the one with one missing side) What OpenFOAM version are you using ? (there are different development branches, and the answer to you issue might depends on which branch you are using. If you are not sure, type foamVersion in your terminal to see what version you are currently using) From the few hints I see in your files and posts, I feel like you are trying to model a heat transfer case, probably conjugate heat transfer. But this is just a guess since you didn't explain it clearly and you didn't show the failed attempts you got before posting here. Keep in mind we are all contributing to this forum on our spare time and most people won't spend time writing a post to help you based on a potentially wrong guess about what you are trying to do. Regards, Yann |
