Does anyone know what is the likely reason that is causing those wrong layers in my mesh?

Hello Rafael,
What you see in picture one appears to be a graphical issue of the crincle option in Paraview. The second image shows collapsing layers around an edge, which is a common problem in layer generation with snappyHexMesh. There are several forum posts here about such problems and there is not a singular answer that will help you right away. Best would be to use the search tool and cross reading some threads. Here are a few things that help me from time to time: use relative instead of absolute layer thickness definition, increase addLayersControls>featureAngle or try the DisplacementMotionSolver mesh shrinker: https://www.openfoam.com/documentati...ntmotionsolver This is only available in the ESI version of OpenFOAM and, as shown, not a definitive solution to the problem. These are some glues, I hope it helps! Good luck. |
