Hi,
I am following this sphere tutorial for OpenFoam https://mycourses.aalto.fi/pluginfil...e_openfoam.pdf to perform a DNS of the flow around a sphere at Re=3700. I was able to make a first grid using this blockmeshDict file: Code:
/*--------------------------------*- C++ -*----------------------------------*\ ========= | \\ / F ield | OpenFOAM: The Open Source CFD Toolbox \\ / O peration | Website: https://openfoam.org \\ / A nd | Version: 8 \\/ M anipulation | \*---------------------------------------------------------------------------*/ FoamFile { version 2.0; format ascii; class dictionary; object blockMeshDict; } // * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * // // Note: this file is a Copy of $FOAM_TUTORIALS/resources/blockMesh/pitzDaily convertToMeters 1; vertices ( (-10 -10 -5) (10 -10 -5) (10 10 -5) (-10 10 -5) (-10 -10 20) (10 -10 20) (10 10 20) (-10 10 20) ); blocks ( hex (0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7) (24 24 26) simpleGrading (1 1 1) ); edges ( ); boundary ( inlet { type patch; faces ( (0 1 2 3) ); } sym { type symmetry; faces ( (0 4 5 1) (0 3 7 4) (1 2 6 5) (2 6 7 3) ); } outlet { type patch; faces ( (4 7 6 5) ); } ); mergePatchPairs ( ); // ************************************************************************* // Code:
