Hello all
I am running OpenFOAM 6 on Ubuntu 18.04, and am using snappyHexMesh to generate a geometry. I am using two .stl binary files (should I be using ascii?). Upon running surfaceFeatureExtract, blockMesh, and snappyHexMesh -overwrite (which I always run, no issues) I then execute checkMesh, and there are no errors, mesh is okay. However, when I load paraFoam and try to look at the mesh, I can only see a mesh.OPENFOAM file, but when I load the .foam file no mesh is present. Could this be the binary vs ascii file, or is there something more going on? I should also note when I check the polymesh/boundary file, there is an extra patch: I only supply two .stl files: tank.stl and symm_side.stl, but here I see two tank categories listed: one is a patch and another is a wall. ParaFoam is also compaining about "duplicate entries with keyword tank". This has never happened before, what do you think is going on? Thanks so much! |

Fixed it. Evidently you need to use ascii type stl files, not binary!
