Hi formers. I used interFoam solver for multiphase case that is fillingOfTank tutorial. I runed the tutorial using both adaptive mesh refinement and static mesh with same boundary conditions and same solver settings. But, I have different results as seen in the figures. what could be the reasons for the difference ?

Well, the simple answer is: the reason for the difference is the mesh.
But you probably have realised that, right? What you have demonstrated to yourself is that the level of resolution is way too low to get mesh independent results. Try reducing the mesh size in baseline mesh by a factor of 4 or more, and also have a think about the metric you are using for adaptive refinement ... you not only need to resolve the free surface, but also the velocity gradients in the jet ... Good luck! |
