Dear all:
Recently I have met an unresonable result. When I use snappyHexMesh to add layers for the "down" patch of two nearly same grids generated from Gmsh and blockMesh, the execution time differs greatly from each other. The expansion rate, total number, minumum size and maximum size of the grids are nearly the same. So are the sizes of the domains. However, it only costs 3.97s for mesh generated from Gmsh to add layers in snappyHexMesh. While it costs 111.46s for mesh generated from blockMesh. I am so confused by the different execution time spent by the two nearly same meshes, which are just generated in different ways. Any reply would be greatly appreciated Best wishes, Samuel P.S. As the upload file is limited to 135kb, I have failed to upload these two cases. The zip is about 9.86MB :< |

Can you share the pictures of your mesh differences? If possible try to share the file through some other file sharing method and share the link here.
