I have had a lot of trouble with gmsh recently. I believe I finally got a unstructured volume mesh, however.
So anyway, I finally generated a volume mesh with an internal 'hole volume' (boundary), and I exported the .msh file, and if I choose version 4 ASCII I get an error that it cannot convert "higher-order" meshes. I don't know how to generate lower order meshes in gmsh... or that it was even generating higher-order meshes. I try exporting Version 1, and it successfully converts, but everything is 1 zone, 0, where does it find the zone information?? Does anyone know how to remedy this? https://i.imgur.com/sHpGeLF.png Any help would be really appreciated. EDIT: Solved! The problem was that in addition to making a volume elementary entity before generating the volume mesh, I also had to add a volume physical group before exporting it. Then, I exported it using version 2, and unchecked the all elements box. Last edited by skodali; June 14, 2020 at 21:33. |
