Hello,
the utility foamToSurface can export the mesh to multiple formats: (ac gts inp obj off ofs smesh stl stlb tri vtk wrl x3d). To convert to VTK format:

foamToSurface output.vtk

We can achieve that also using foamToVTK:

foamToVTK

What is the difference between these two utilities? why foamToVTK is needed when foamToSurface could achieve the same result?

Thanks

What do `foamToSurface -help` and `foamToVTK -help` say?

foamToSurface (operates on the boundaries of a mesh)

foamToVTK (operates on internal and boundary mesh for visualisation purposes).
