Dear Community,

I've been working with SHM (castelled and snapcontrol) for a week and now that I have started with addlayer I am having problems. When I run the addlayer is set to true and the remaining are false and I also use:

mpirun -np 6 snappyHexMesh -parallel > log.shmlayer

without the overwrite on my OF6.

but it doesn't add any layer to it.

The geometry is complex so i have set not that high level of refinement during the castelled and snapcontrol, because when I try it gives me this error.(addr2line failed error)

But now for the addlayer feature:

Code:
Handling feature edges ...

Handling cells with warped patch faces ...
Set displacement to zero on 172105 warped faces since layer would be > 0.5 of the size of the bounding box.

patch faces    layers avg thickness[m]
                    near-wall overall
----- -----    ------ --------- -------
box 5710793  3      1.89e-07  5.28e-07
and later at the end while doing final balancing of SHM it says
Code:
Doing final balancing
---------------------

patch faces    layers   overall thickness
                      [m]       [%]
----- -----    ------   ---       ---
box 5710793  0        0         0

Layer mesh : cells:13414434  faces:44707367  points:18031589
Cells per refinement level:
    0	13414434
I am attaching my SHMDict file and the logfile, I hope someone can look into it. I am stuck with this problem for a week now.

miniQuestion: If I am introducing a geometry to study the external flow around it. This is the correct syntax to write it?

Code:
"(box).*"
        {
            nSurfaceLayers 3;
        }
Thanks in advance.
Owais

Hello,

Have you found the solution to this? I have a similar problem

Code:
Handling cells with warped patch faces ...
Set displacement to zero on 0 warped faces since layer would be > 0.5 of the size of the bounding box.

patch  faces    layers avg thickness[m]
                       near-wall overall
-----  -----    ------ --------- -------
bottom 35000    4      3.75e-06  2.01e-05

finally
Code:
patch  faces    layers   overall thickness
                         [m]       [%]
-----  -----    ------   ---       ---
bottom 35000    0        0         0
