Hello Foamers,
I am currently trying to mesh a single piston internal combustion engine. It works with two oposed cylinder heads in a single shaft and I'd like to simulate the combustion chamber processes but am having some troubles with the moving boundary of the cylinder head. For that I initally ran some MatLab simulation for an idea of the dynamic model from which I want to pull initial movement data for the piston. With this movement data I will use either an oscillating movement or a table for the cylinder head boundary mesh movement. But after the ignition, would I have to make another simulation to implement a free cylinder boundary that will move solely based on the gases expansion from the combustion? And how would it be possible to consider the pressure from the combustion chamber on the opposite side of the shaft? |
