Hi, I am using ICEM 19.0 to block my mesh. After I copy the ~.msh file to ubuntu 18.04 and type fluentMeshToFoam, I can get the polyMesh file folder. But when I try to edit some of the files, for instance, faces etc. All are garbled, see the pictures. I try to use uchardet * to get the encoding of the files, these wired files are unknown. I would like to edit these files just with clicking mouse, opening with text editor, typing and closing and saving. Does anyone know how to achieve that?

I figure it out. It is the problem with writeFormat in the controlDic. When I change it to ascii, it is OK. Those pictures attached are write in binary format.
