Hey Guys,
I would like to know, if it is possible to mesh with Salomone instead of blockMesh for the the backround mesh, to use in the next step snappyhexMesh. I have tried it with different types of meshes in the last hours, but It did not work on my computer. I was a little bit confused that I couldn`t find anything about this idea of workflow. At first I thought the .m4 Format would be a good opportunity. But on the second look, it seems to be very complicadet to create geometries on this way. Maybe you have some experience on this topic. Thank you and best regarts! Kevin Last edited by Kevin.H; October 12, 2018 at 06:11. Reason: another idea which i would like to share |

Thank you Linnemann for your quick response,
Everytime I get an error like this: (...) --> FOAM FATAL ERROR: cell 986 of level 0 does not seem to have 8 points of equal or lower level cellPoints:4(2606 2609 2611 1258) pointLevels:4{0} (...) I have tried to refign the meshs etc but it still doesn`t work. Is there anything I have to note when I use Salomone in combination with snappy? |

Good Morning Formes,
maybe I should explain what I am trying to do with SnappyhexMesh. I work for 2 weeks with OpenFoam an I have heard that SnappyHexMesh is, especially for complex Geometries, the best way to produce Meshes. My basic case is really simple but in a few weeks I hope to simulate other more complexer cases. I would like to use this way of meshing, because the basic-mesh with simple BlockMesh isn´t uniform enough. The importing of the first zylinder works very fine (ideasUnvToFoam Mesh.unv). I get the PolyMesh folder with all informations. But when I try to use snappyHexMesh a fatal Error is the result. --> FOAM FATAL ERROR:cell 986 of level 0 does not seem to have 8 points In Older CFD-Online discussions I have read that sometimes the refinement ratios could be the problem. So in the next step I disabled the snap-, and add Layers-opportunity in the snappyHexMeshDict. I thought that the prismlayers or other refinements produce this Error. But it still doesn´´t work. Could you please describe me your Workflow? Is there any limitation in Salome ? Which kind of mesh do you use ? |
