UPDATE:
Hello again, I found the problem. The basic geometry of my mesh is automatically generated from geodata. Using UTM Zone 32 N this features very high coordinate values in the Y direction. As soon as I normalize the coodinates to 0 origin it works like a charm! I leave my recent message below in order other people encounter this problem. Have a nice weekend! Max ------------- Hello everbody, I encounter a strange problem when converting a mesh generated in gmsh to a foam polyMesh using the gmshToFoam utility. Somehow the mesh looses the cell scaling in y-dimension ending up with only 3 cells messing up the whole mesh. The two attached images explain it very good I guess... It would be really great if someone could point me in the right direction where this behaviour comes from. Thank you all! Max P.S. Same Problem when using SnappyHexMesh and obj/stl model. Mesh only refines/snaps in x direction (and z) but not in y. What am I doing wrong ?! Last edited by djtschke; March 23, 2018 at 07:34. Reason: Further Addition |
