Hi all,
I have been trying for some time to create a multi-material mesh of a femur and a total hip replacement prosthesis stem. I require a single mesh of the two components with 2 cellZones so that I can apply different material properties to the different components. I have had some success with ANSYS ICEM, creating tetrahedral meshes of each component with a common conformal patch that I can perform a stitchMesh operation on however would like to move to a hexahedral mesh. I have used cfMesh which creates some good meshes of the individual components but with no way of creating a conformally meshed patch the stitchMesh results are very poor and unusable. I was hoping somebody else may have some advice or recommendations as to their workflows for a multi-material mesh such as this. Thanks for any help, Karen |
