Hello everybody,
At first sorry for my bad english :P I´m new in OpenFoam and have some problems with blockMesh (checkMesh). I tried to create a rectangle with hex in the blockMeshDict. When i run blockMesh, ididn´t get any failed message, but if i run checkMesh, then i get 4 failed message and i don´t know why. Maybe someone can help me to understand my mistake ? Best regards Kev10 |

Hi,
Your mesh fails the checkMesh test because your mesh is essentially defined inside out. Based on the way you have defined your mesh, there is a clash between the direction you have specified for the 3rd axis and what you get from the right hand rule. One simple solution would be to define vertices 0 to 3 with z = -1000 (currently what you have defined as 500) and vertices 4 to 7 with z = 500 (what you currently have as -1000). Essentially switch the vertices around and your mesh should be OK Hope this helps. Cheers, Antimony |
