Hi forum,
I've been trying to get a good mesh with SHM for about two weeks now. In an attempt to do all I can, I turn my attention to you guys for advice. The mesh is supposed to snap onto the stl files of a Tesla turbine, which I have made in OpenSCAD. Seemingly, regardless of what I tamper with in the SHM settings, I can't avoid getting errors in the mesh when running the checkMesh -allTopology -allGeometry command on the snapped mesh (castellated mesh is okey). Typical numbers are: Highly skewed faces 285 Low quality/negative volume faces 248 Faces with concave angles: 12203 Warped faces 73 Cells w. small determinant 520 Concave cells 39965 Faces w. low interpolation weights 1211 Faces w. small volume ratio 142 From the forum, I've understood that it might be difficult to avoid the concave cells, and concave faces. My aim therefore is to, if not eliminate then at least, minimize the other errors. The castellated mesh seems okey. The snapping is the problem. In the snapping settings, I've mainly tampered with tolerance, and cranked all the iterations high. I include the whole case, a sliced picture of the mesh at the most complicated area, and my SHM settings. Its clear that my question is unclear, since no one seems to be responding. Any remarks on what information is missing, or which formulation is ambiguous would be greatly appreciated.
Perhaps my question is posted at the wrong place in the forum? |
