Hi,
I have read some threads about this matter but still have no idea how to fix this problem.

In my case, two unconnected cubes are generated when using blockMesh, I want to remove a sphere mesh from one cube,so I use snappyHexMesh, the locationInMesh is set outside the sphere but inside the cube. Then the other cube mesh disappear. I may be wrong but cannot figure out where the problem is. Would anyone help me?

Best wishes,
Xiaoxue

Hi,

Using your current approach, you will not be able to retain the second cube as the second cube is "inaccessible" from your current locationInMesh point and will be removed.

My suggestion would be that you create each cube in a separate case. For the one with the sphere, run snappyHexMesh.

Then use mergeMeshes to bring the two meshes together.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Antimony

Hi Antimony,

Thanks for your reply, I'll try that. Hope that will work, I have been stuck here for several days

Best wishes,
