blockMesh problem with wedge blocks

dear Foamers,
I found a possible problem with blockMesh on OF 2.3 . One block of my larger mesh is wedge shaped, even if any of its boundaries will be of the "type wedge" (but just of the type patch) because this larger mesh is not an axisymmetric geometry. Two edges are circular arcs. Here attached you find a pic of just this only problematic block for simplification. As you can see face (0 4 5 3) in on the coordinate plane zy. The blockMeshDict seems to me OK. But when I use it with OF2.3 and a simpleGrading with a certain number of cells (for ex. (6 64 9)), the blockMesh seems still to work, but no more the checkMesh and in paraFoam indeed I have the error in red in the second pic in wireframe. On the contrary, with for instance another n° of cells (for ex. (4 23 9)) or using OF2.1 the problem disappears, with all the checkMeshes succeeding. I attached the case. Need help for understanding, because this causes me bigger problems later to conform this block with the larger mesh. wedge_block.jpg wedge_grading_error.jpg wedgeblockForum.tar.gz |
