Dear FOAMers
I am conducting a simulation of conjugate heat transfer (CHT) problem in which the fluid flows in a heated circular tube. The solver ChtMultiRegionSimpleFoam is used. I am planning to add uniform volumetric heat source inside the solid domain (tube wall) using the fvOptions utility. At the solid-fluid interface the compressible::turbulentTemperature CoupledBaffleMixed is used. In the fluid domain, the mesh is refined at the solid-fluid interface since the flow is turbulent and I want the boundary layer to be solved using Low-Re turbulence models. My doubts are: 1 Whether the mesh in the solid domain needs to be refined in the radial direction as well or a uniform spaced mesh is OK? 2 If a nonuniform mesh in the solid domain has to be used, does it have to be adjusted under different heat source conditions? Thank you! |
