Hello,
Description of the situation: I wish to mesh a fan geometry. This has been split into two regions: Rotating & Stationary. The Rotating region that slides on an interface with stationary region. (The following information is not needed for the question that I ask, but will help to visualize for the readers: I am going to use MRF method for steady state calculation using simpleFoam. I have done this simulation many time without any issue, where both regions were meshed using single mesher, say for example, STARCCM+ followed by ccm26ToFoam) Now, for some reason, I want to mesh the these regions (or cellZones in the terminology of OpenFOAM) using different meshers, say for example, STARCCM+ for Rotating, and blockMesh for Stationary. Question: In the above situation, please note that the number of cells on the either side of the interface of two regions will be different. Will the solver, simpleFOAM (with MRF fvOption) complain in such situation? Thanks |

Hi,
Have you looked at cyclicAMI in OF? Based on connecting different meshes with different resolutions, that would seem to fit the bill. Cheers, Antimony |
