Coris is on a distinguished road
I am having problems with creating a mesh generated by snappy for an annular sector problem. The annular sector has only 1 cell in the rotational direction (2D), so I use snappy on a 3D problem and then extrudeMesh:

Code:
blockMesh >> logFile
surfaceFeatureExtract >> logFile
snappyHexMesh -overwrite >> logFile
extrudeMesh >> logFile
However, the extrudeMesh returns an empty mesh.

What does work however is creating a wedge. Therefore, the following tutorial works brilliantly: http://www.holzmann-cfd.de/index.php.../2d-wedge-mesh
It has to be slightly adapted for OpenFoam 3.0, by changing the wedgeCoeffs entry in extrudeMeshDict to sectorCoeffs.

For an annular sector, I moved the .stl of the tutorial case 0.05 m away from the axis of rotation. I also did a surfaceOrient such that the normals on the stl surfaces point in the same direction as the original .stl. However, as said, the extrudeMesh returns an empty mesh. Snappy works just fine. My case is in the attachment.

I am using OpenFoam 3.0.1 on Ubuntu.

Any thoughts?
