Hello everyone,
I am trying to run a very simple 2D case of flow around a cylinder. I do blockMesh and then snappyHexMesh to finally apply extrudeMesh to get a 2D mesh. The issue is I don't know why I cannot visualize the 3 layers around the cylinder in using paraFoam. Even if I make a cut plane. I've checked the log file and layers have been made. Any one know why I cannot see them in paraView? Please find attached the blockMeshDict, snappyHexMeshDict and log of the sHM. Cheers, |

Hi Francesco!
Try this! I think you need to run SHM two times! First make the addLayers switch inactive! run SHM then make the first two(castellated and snap) inactive and activated addLayer switch. Run SHM again et voila! Small point: check the final thickness of you layers! |

Hello Foamers
I am currently trying to convert my 3D model into a 2D model to reduce the computing time. The problem is that in the 2D case I can't see my Prism layers anymore or the command "extrudeMesh" just ignored them. Is there a way to check without ParaFoam whether the PrismLayers still exist after the "extrudeMesh" command? Do you have a solution for the problem? Best regards Kevin |

In fact, do you have the snappyHexMesh file from the first picture you posted (3D?). This is quite exactly what i am looking for. |
