cyclic BC for mesh from Pointwise

Hi, I have a issue with exporting cyclic BCs from Pointwise.
The physics is simple, a upstream cylinder(diameter D) with downstream foil(chord length c, c=2D). I built the mesh for DES simulation, with front and back side(perpendicular to spanwise direction, chord length apart, 40 cells in this direction) set to cyclic BC. I've tried the approach: 1) set as cyclic in Pointwise, export to OF files, modify the boundary file by adding the line "neighbourPatch" for front and back The checkMesh reported face not matching, and the face centers are definitely mismatched, it's might be a ordering issue 2) Set those two boundaries as patch in Pointwise and export. Use OF utility createPatch. checkMesh reports non-orthogonal faces, convert to VTK and visualize in paraview(see attachment) Please help! Thanks Last edited by TypeR; October 7, 2015 at 17:45. |
