Mesh two unconnected stl-geometries with snappyHexMesh

Hello,
I want to mesh the inside of these two geometries (carbon fiber rovings) using snappHexMesh. The two geometries are not connected with each other and this is why I have a problem with snappyHexMesh because with locatonInMesh I can only define one region in only one of the two geometries. That's why only one roving is meshed and the other neglected. I've already found and read this thread http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ope...oth-parts.html but I didn't understand it very well. I just understood that I've one stl-file for each geometry and then define it in snappyHexMeshDict. So far, so good but I think I need a step by step description of how to go on. Thanks |

Mesh each part separately and use mergeMeshes util to combine parts into single mesh
