Hey!
I have been wondering if it is possible to force the cell orientation inside stl-surfaces different from the background blockmesh orientation? This in case I know that at some part of my domain I have flow not aligned with the background mesh. Naturally a smooth change back to background orientation is needed close to the interface and is totally expected. If this is not possible by some trick, then most probably I have to split the background blockmesh domain into pieces and orient the blocks correctly before applying snapping... |

I am facing the exact same problem. Hekseli, before someone enlighten us if this is possible, could you please explain in more details the workaround you mentioned?

Hey!
I think the only way to overcome this is to design the background mesh in a way that the cells are orientated properly in it and then apply SHM. I am now creating the background structured mesh with gmsh. |
