Hi everyone!
First of all I am a silent reader for years now and this forum has helped a lot! so thanks for this Till now i have have worked with Ansys Workbench, but lately i am forced to work with openfoam and that realy makes my head spinn for training i made an STL file of a pipe and i want to simulate the flow trough it. to my problem: how do i part the model in different regions or facets? in Ansys it was just selecting all the faces you want, right click and then name it like inlet or whatever you want it to be. how do you guys do it? I have tried using Salome and FreeCAD but i dont get it. thanks for your help! |

Hi,
some time ago I was facing the same problems, after I figured out how to do it in Salome I answered a similar question in another thread: http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ope...y-patches.html You should also have a look at the tools surfaceAutoPatch and surfaceSplitByPatch. Feel free to ask follow-up questions if that's not enough. Good luck! Cutter |
