Greetings foamers,
I am very new to OpenFoam and have recently been experimenting with snappyHexMesh. I have no trouble meshing the region inside or outside some enclosed surface. But what I really want to do is to use chtMultiRegionFoam to model concentric cylinders of finite length of alternating solid and fluid regions. In addition, I would require some regions to be meshed finer than others (particularly the fluid regions and the region outside the outermost cylinder), which means that the meshes will likely not match up at the interfaces of the regions. I have a long way to go, but my first question (of which I will likely have many more) is:

1) Is it possible to mesh the region between two stl surfaces (as in the concentric cylinders case) with snappyHexMesh.

2) Since the dictionary entry to choose which side of the stl to mesh in is "locationInMesh", which accepts a point coordinate, does this mean that I can only mesh one region at a time? It looks like in the snappyMultiRegionHeather tutorial like they are meshing multiple separate regions in one swoop, but I am having a lot of trouble understanding this tutorial.

3) Is it possible to have a simulation where the meshes do not conform at the interfaces of the two regions?
