Hello there,
I am new to OpenFoam. I have some questions about unstructured grid in OpenFoam.
1) Does the mesh must be imported from the third party software, if I want to use the unstructured grid in OpenFoam? Can I get it by using OpenFoam itself.

2) As far as I know, the data structure between structured and unstructured grid is very different. And the code which can handle some cases with structured grid successfully may not can handle the unstructured one. I wonder why the OpenFoam can handle both of them.

3) There is a case (structured grid) have been solved successfully by using a solver. Whether I only need to change the grid type, if I want to run this case with unstructured grid.

Thanks a lot to you all,
Yongxiao Wang

as far as i know:
1- you should import from third party.
2-maybe because its written for arbitrary unstructured grid , so it can handle both
3- yes, you just need to change the grid

However when structure grid is available why do you want to use unstructured one?
