Hi,
I just started using Linux/UX system and OpenFoam, so I have many questions for fairly easy ones. I studied 'how to write a blockMeshdict' file on OpenFoam.org, but I can't figure out what commands to input to start creating a blockMeshdict file. FYI, I'm trying to build meshes for an airfoil in a wind tunnel. Thanks, Hojae |

Hi and welcome to the forums!
The input files for blockMesh are simple text files. They can be created and edited with any text editor. Usually the creation is done by copying an existing blockMeshDict file. The available text editors highly depend on your Linux distribution and the software packages that are installed on your machine. Please ask other students or colleagues to give you a short introduction to Linux and the most important commands! There are probably introductory courses at an university nearby! The question is too generic to be answered more precisely. Regarding the meshing of airfoils, please have a look at http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ope...odynamics.html. Good luck! Cutter |
