Ugly layer addition around corners

Hi, foamers.
I have been using SHM in OpenFOAM-2.3.0 to help me generate mesh but something ugly shows up, mainly the layer around corners, when I use it to add layers. My geometry is a column with a heave plate, shown as an attachment. The second image demonstrates a slice of the mesh after the snapping process. The third and fourth images show the mesh after the layer addition process, form which you may see the mesh is distorted around the corner. I use the expansionRatio and firstLayerThickness to control the layer thickness while the relativeSizes parameter is set to false. I am wondering how the layer thickness is defined in SHM. As far as I am concerned, the thickness of the layer decreases when it comes to the corners, resulting in the distortion of the exterior mesh. Any help is appreciated. Thank you very much! My SHMDict, blockMeshDict and STL for my geometry are also attached here. |
