Hi FOAMers,
I have this question in my mind, but haven't figure out answer yet, so please help me. Say if I have a geometry needs to be decomposed into 8 processor sub-domains, and I'm just curious if the order of running 'snappyHexMesh' and 'decomposePar' would make any difference on the mesh. I image that if I decompose the domain first, then the mesh has to align itself with the separating boundary faces/lines; and if I do snappyHexMesh first, the decomposePar will take place based on the orthogonal or other criteria? I'm not sure if this is correct, and which way is the best to give the better mesh, so FOAMers, please advice, thanks! |

You should run decomposePar before snappyHexMesh

So the snappyHexMesh will also run in parallel.
The snappyHexMesh will move cells from one processor to another in order make the number of cells almost the same. |
